2008 Development Officer - Dylan Harper

Dylan Harper playing for South Bunbury FCDylan Harper will arrive in Tonga in March 2008 to begin a 12 month assignment as an Australian Football Development Officer, with TAFA, through the Australian Youth Ambassador Program.

Dylan is 22 years old and grew up in Western Australia, having spent the majority of his time in Bunbury and Perth. He played his junior football in Bunbury before moving to Perth to play in the West Australian Football League for Swan Districts FC. Dylan also represented WA at the national 16's and 18's carnivals. In 2002, Dylan attended the AFL draft camp and in 2003 he trained with AFL team, Melbourne FC.

Whilst living in Perth, Dylan completed a Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Health Science) from the University of Western Australia. Throughout this degree Dylan gained work experience in the sporting industry and well as gaining an insight into the physiological side of elite sport.

In 2007 Dylan returned to Bunbury to work as a Football Development Officer. He gained a lot of experience in football development, promotion and coaching. He also travelled to Queensland with the State 16's football team in an administrative and coaching capacity.

Dylan is extremely excited about the prospect of living and working in Tonga in the industry in which he is so passionate about. He believes football can have a positive impact on the community and has the potential to become a popular sport.

Outside of football Dylan enjoys to snorkel, fish and surf and hopes to travel Tonga and the Pacific to pursue these hobbies.
